Supported Housing
We were asked about supported housing for young adults with learning disabilities in Nairn . We are awaiting the results of questionnaires administered by Health and Happiness across Highland and particularly in Nairn before can offer further support. We have also asked Highland Council for more information about specialist housing needed
No respite beds in Nairn
We are continuing to search for ways of lobbying for a better service. We understand that money is short, but unpaid carers save Highland Region a lot of money and they need breaks to continue. Service users find going out of Nairn for respite care-often a long way from home prevents their friends from visiting and serves to increase isolation and confusion.
If you are an unpaid carer you may contact Citizens Advice Bureau Nairn for advice on benefits and Connecting Carers Inverness for advice for coping with caring.
